MCP overview

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call tools in other systems. FlowState offers its features as MCP tools, so you can work with FlowState from Claude in plain language.

Example requests:

  • “Show me all deals that have had no activity in the last 2 weeks.”
  • “What does our win rate look like over the past 12 months, broken down by reason?”
  • “Trigger an APN sync for the ACME deal.”
  • “Which reps are closest to hitting quota this quarter?”
  • “List all APN conflicts and resolve them all using the HubSpot value.”
  • “Invite alex@example.com as a member.”

Every tool call uses your own FlowState sign-in. It has the same permissions, tenant isolation and audit logging as the same action in the web app.

Quick start

  1. An owner or admin turns on MCP server under Settings → Features. It is off for a new tenant.
  2. Go to Settings → MCP in the FlowState app. It shows the server URL.
  3. Add FlowState to Claude as a custom connector and sign in. See Client setup for the steps.

You need the owner, admin or member role. A viewer cannot use MCP. See Authentication for the details and the error messages.
