APN sandbox vs production
Partner Central has two catalogs. You choose one when you connect APN. Start with Sandbox, check that the sync works for your team, then connect Production.
| Sandbox | Production | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A test catalog in Partner Central | Your live co-sell pipeline |
| Effect on your partner tier and co-sell pipeline | None | Real opportunities that AWS reviews |
| Connector role | FlowStateAPNConnectorSandbox | FlowStateAPNConnectorProduction |
| AWS managed policy on the role | AWSPartnerCentralSandboxFullAccess | AWSPartnerCentralOpportunityManagement |
The wizard selects Sandbox (recommended) by default.
To test without touching real data, you can use a separate FlowState tenant with a HubSpot test account and the Sandbox catalog.
Check the sync in Sandbox
Before you connect Production, check these points in Sandbox:
- Submit three to five test deals from the FlowState card. Each one reaches Submitted — waiting for AWS review on the card.
- Change a submitted deal in HubSpot. A Changes synced to AWS note appears on the deal.
- Change an opportunity in Partner Central. An AWS updated this opportunity note appears on the deal.
- Apps → APN → Overview shows no deals under Errors and none under Conflicts.
Connect Production
Production needs its own connector stack, because the role, the policy and the catalog lock are per catalog.
- Go to Settings → Integrations → APN, click Disconnect and then Confirm disconnect.
- Click Set up APN connector and click Start setup.
- On the Deploy module step, choose Production, and deploy the connector as in Getting started.
- Click I’ve deployed the module, paste the new role ARN, click Test connection and then Continue.
Result: the wizard shows You’re connected with the catalog AWS (the name Partner
Central uses for its production catalog).
Sandbox opportunities stay in the Sandbox catalog. FlowState does not move them to Production. For this reason, test in Sandbox with test deals, not with deals that you plan to submit to your live pipeline.
To go back from Production to Sandbox, you must disconnect and run the wizard again.
You can leave the Sandbox connector stack in place, or delete it. See Disconnecting.
