Disconnecting Slack

Disconnect

You need the owner or admin role.

  1. Open Settings → Integrations → Slack.
  2. Click Disconnect. There is no confirmation step.

With an AI assistant, use the MCP tool disconnect_slack().

Result: FlowState shows Slack disconnected.

  • FlowState deletes its Slack access token and can no longer post to your workspace.
  • The Slack feature is turned off for the tenant.
  • Deal alerts stop from the next daily sync. Nothing is queued, so nothing is sent later.
  • Everyone in the tenant gets an email that Slack was disconnected, unless they turned off the category Slack was disconnected.

What is kept

  • Your Slack app’s Client ID and Client Secret. You do not have to create the Slack app again to reconnect.
  • Where alerts go, if you reconnect the same Slack workspace. If you connect a different workspace, the old channels do not exist there, so both alert types go back to People. Check Where should alerts go? after reconnecting.

Reconnect

  1. Open Settings → Integrations → Slack and click Enable Slack (or turn Slack on under Settings → Features).
  2. Click Connect to Slack and click Allow in Slack. Your saved app credentials are used, so you do not repeat the first two setup steps.
  3. Click Send test message.

Result: the test message arrives in your Slack direct messages. If FlowState was removed from an alert channel in the meantime, invite it again: /invite @FlowState.

Removing the app in Slack

A Slack Workspace Owner or App Manager can remove the app in Slack under Settings & administration → Manage apps. FlowState notices this only when its next Slack request fails, for example the next Send test message. Until then the Slack page still shows it as connected, and no email is sent. Click Disconnect in FlowState to update the status.
